Free Wi-Fi for Bengalureans soon

Bengalureans will soon get free Wi-Fi (up to 1 GB) for an hour every day. As part of the scheme, proposed by Karnataka’s deputy chief minister CN Ashwath Narayan, 4,000 hotspots will be set up across the city. The ₹100 crore project, similar to initiatives launched in Hyderabad and Chennai, will be fully funded by internet service provider ACT. India’s IT hub has over 10 million residents and the country has the highest data usage per smartphone.
