Cheating case against Oyo’s CEO Ritesh Agarwal and 6 others

A cheating case has been registered toward OYO Hotels and Homes CEO Ritesh Agarwal and six others reliant on a protest by a hotelier who has claimed that the company didn’t pay lease for times for as far back as five months, policemen said on Monday.

In his protest, Betz Fernandez, who claims Roxel Inn at Domlur here, expressed that OYO had booked rooms and had consented to pay Rs 7 lakh for each month.

In any case, since May OYO didn’t pay him any lease in this way hoodwinking him to the tune of Rs 35 lakh, he asserted.

Other than Ritesh Agarwal, police have booked head of OYO South, Rohit Srivastava, heads of business growth Gourab De and Madhvendra Kumar, Manjeet Singh, OYO Finance Officers Prateek Agarwal and Mrimony Chakraborty.

They have been approached to show up before the investigating officer on Thursday, police said.

The OYO Hotels and Homes said in an explanation that they will document a counter-complaint against the Bengaluru lodging proprietor for “using inappropriate legal ways to sensationalize a civil discussion and get consideration.”

“Our legal advisers are investigating the issue and will make the solid valid move as these cases are inaccurate and disparaging in nature.”

Fitting criminal procedures will be started against the Bengaluru proprietor, the organization said.

“We consistently observe the traditions that must be adhered to and work remembering the eventual benefits of our advantage proprietors, clients, and representatives,” it expressed.

“On examining a comparative issue where a FIR was unfairly documented in September, the decent Karnataka High Court as of late remained the unfriendly activities by means of an order in Bengaluru. We, in this way, have solid motivations to rest our confidence in the equity framework.”
