Air pollution levels in the capital intensified to severe and visibility decreased significantly. Distinctly, for the very first time in this period, the Air Quality Index (AQI) arrived as high as 625 at 10 in the morning despite drizzles in the early hours. An AQI between 0-50 is rated “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor”, and 401-500 “severe”. Over 500 is the “severe-plus emergency” section.
At least 32 flights have been redirected at the Delhi airport as a thick blanket of smog covered various areas of the capital on Sunday morning. The frightening speed of an increase in the infected level of air quality has triggered reactions from celebrities.

It has become sleepy and lazy post-Diwali. I took him to a close-by veterinary emergency clinic for consultation. We are not taking him out of the house in the morning as well as in the evening.”
