Air pollution levels in the capital intensified to severe and visibility decreased significantly. Distinctly, for the very first time in this period, the Air Quality Index (AQI) arrived as high as 625 at 10 in the morning despite drizzles in the early hours. An AQI between 0-50 is rated “good”, 51-100 “satisfactory”, 101-200 “moderate”, 201-300 “poor”, 301-400 “very poor”, and 401-500 “severe”. Over 500 is the “severe-plus emergency” section.
At least 32 flights have been redirected at the Delhi airport as a thick blanket of smog covered various areas of the capital on Sunday morning. The frightening speed of an increase in the infected level of air quality has triggered reactions from celebrities.
Not only humans but species are also dropping ill due to dangerous levels of air pollution in Delhi. Several cases of species being harmed by lethal pollution have been recorded over the city’s veterinary dispensaries.
“Animals are being admitted to the clinic over side effects of sickness, continued spewing, redness in eyes and moderate reaction,” said veterinary specialists. Pets under one year of age and aged animals and birds are at high risks due to their low endurance, state veterinary specialists.
Species, for example, Beagle, Labrador, Pug, Bulldog, and Poodle, and so on have been determined to have issues, for example, running nose, watery eyes, respiratory trouble, and other health disturbances.

Nihal Kapadia, a resident of Inderpuri, said that for the recent days his pet dog has not been acting like it used to be. “I am seeing irregular conduct in my pet dog since October. It has become sleepy and lazy post-Diwali. I took him to a close-by veterinary emergency clinic for consultation. We are not taking him out of the house in the morning as well as in the evening.”
